Inserting the RefTracker Client interface functions in your web pages

The client interface can be accessed at various points according to the URL that your system administrator has inserted into each place in your web pages where RefTracker is accessed. Access can start:

  • At the Welcome page which can encourage the client to search the knowledge base before submitting a question.
  • At the page summarising all of the available Request forms (types) that can be submitted.
  • Directly at a specific form e.g. a link directly to the New book request form might be inserted into your library web page about new acquisitions.
  • Directly to the page that allows the Knowledge Base (KB) and/or Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to be searched.

All of these access points will be covered by the following manual.

No matter which of these pages access begins at, access to the rest of the client interface is usually available through the header of that page. However your system administrator can provide access to some pages such as individual forms for specific purposes, without access to any other functions, and they can provide access to the client interface using their own custom designed header and footer.

A standard RefTracker form looks like this – though the RefTracker System Administrator can have configured it to include whatever fields and text are appropriate for the type of request being submitted, and may have configured the header bar to access a different range of features.
