Who should read this manual?
This document provides the definitive description of the RefTracker functions and features that are only used by System administrators. These features are over and above those described in the Staff and Supervisor manuals.
Pre-requisite: Staff reading this manual should have already read the RefTracker Client, Staff and Supervisor manual.
To aid in finding the information that you require in this manual it is broadly organised in the same way as the RefTracker menu structure, but a whole of manual search function is also provided in the top right of the screen, and a search of this administration part of the manual only is provided above the table of contents.
In addition to providing Administrator feature descriptions and usage instructions, this manual is also an important aid to setting up a new RefTracker system as the exercises can be used to ensure all aspects of the system have been considered and properly set up. However, this manual is also an invaluable reference for administrators working with existing systems, for example when a new administrator joins your library, museum, gallery, archive or other information delivery request management service.
This manual can be used in a class room environment, or as a self-paced training course. Note that in either a class, or self-study environment, the exercises in this manual WILL change the way in which your whole RefTracker system operates, so the impact on other users of your RefTracker system will need to be taken into account. In particular, when a course is run in a classroom environment, only one student should make changes that change the operation of the entire system.

Where to obtain assistance in relation to RefTracker?
The RefTracker help system provides useful hints as to how to use RefTracker. It is accessible from the question mark icon in the header of every RefTracker screen. When you click on the help system icon, it brings up help for the particular page that you are currently on that often provides links to other applicable pages.
You can also use the left hand table of contents to find other relevant information, and, in particular, the search box at the top of that column. Further, links at the bottom of the page allow you to easily move to the previous and next help pages.
If the help does not provide an answer, please ask your nominated RefTracker Supervisor or System administrator for assistance or submit a request for assistance using our support web site.
