Background processing Overview screen

Background processing Overview screen (at System>Batch process menu>Background processing>Overview) shows a summary of the most recent run of each processes, in the order in which they ran, how often they run, when they last ran and will run next, and a summary of what they did in that most recent run.

Importantly if you need to find out more about any of these processes, or make a change to the process including disabling it, you can just click on the Process name and you’ll be taken to the Overview tab for that specific background process where the status, parameters and schedule can be reviewed and changed, and a log of the runs for the specific process can be seen.  See this page for details of how you can change the status, parameters, and schedule of each of the background process, and see the following screens for more details about each background process.

Using the background processing Overview screen

The background processes usually run every minute so, while you are in this Overview screen, it automatically redisplays every minute showing the most recent run of each process.

The time of this view of the most recent runs shows at the top of the screen and a Process group drop down box on the right of the screen allows you to limit the display to just processes of a particular group e.g. Scheduled reporting or email processing.

The data displayed about each background processes most recent run is:

Process name: The name of the process that ran and the Process group that it belongs to.
Click on the Process name to go to the Overview tab for that specific background process where the status, parameters and schedule can be reviewed and changed, and a log of all the runs for the specific process can be seen

Schedule: How often this process is scheduled to run.

Last run: When this process last ran – the processes are listed in the order in which they last ran, and how long ago that was.

Next run: When this process is scheduled to run next and how long until that will happen.

Summary:  A summary of what that process did in that last run (this is the same summary that shows in the log tab for that individual process).
