Customising the colours used in RefTracker
The colours and fonts used by RefTracker (both the client and staff interfaces, including Qprint and the emails sent by RefTracker) are controlled by the css directory that you select in the Utilities>Administration utilities>Colour scheme editor, Active colour scheme.
Because RefTracker is an intelligent web based application, it is reliant on its css. By necessity the css changes from release to release. You can customise the RefTracker css to suit your needs using the Colour scheme editor, and it will change for both the staff and the client interface, but if you are serious about needing changes to the client interface, we recommend the changes using this tool should be kept to a minimum and that you should utilise the RefTracker customised header to make the layout changes required to fit the client pages into the style of your web pages. For more information about making changes for the client interface, see the Header, Footer and colour customisation for the client interface help page
If you use the Colour scheme editor, your colour changes will be automatically upgraded from release to release.
Manual CSS editing (BEWARE – manual editing will be required after each upgrade if use this option)
The Colour scheme editor should provide everything you need to make the staff interface look like a product belonging to your organisation, but you may want to make further changes to the email templates.
If you want to change the css used by the RefTracker emails, you can edit the following file in your include/css directory:
email.custom.css
The css for emails is separate as the code in this file is incorporated into every email generated by RefTracker so that the email can be viewed in its formatted layout even when offline.
Manual css file changes should be done by a competent css file editor and kept to a minimum as the changes may need to be reapplied to an upgraded version of he file after some upgrades.
