Access at the summary of available request forms

Your library may prefer to provide access to RefTracker at the screen shown above which allows the client to choose the type of Request that they want to submit, from all the available request types at their location (the client interface set for this location). Each form name on this screen has been defined as a Request form available for client use at the current client location.

If you only have one Request form available, clicking on Ask new question will take you directly to that form, and this summary screen will not be shown in your client interface.

If you make multiple Request forms available for this Location, then a list of all available forms will be displayed. The client then clicks on the most appropriate form to enter the details of their question.

Where forms have been specified (in Edit options) as only being available for a specific location, they will only appear in the client interface for that location. Libraries that have branches that operate by subject, and library consortiums using RefTracker will take advantage of this capability to ensure that questions are allocated to staff at the right location.

The URL that you need to use to link to this page is:

http://<yourRefTrackerDomain>/reft120.aspx?cllcid=<clientLocationKey>

where clientLocationKey is the code recorded in the RefTracker Locations function for the client Location that the client is accessing the system from. If you do not supply a client location key parameter (which is most often the case), the system will use the default Client location as defined in your System>Locations table – so you would use the cllcid parameter, where you offer some forms for use by specific locations only. In that case, the system must know which client location the client is from in order to be able to present them with the correct selection of Request forms (question types) for that location, and send their requests to the right staff (service) location.
