Adding new locations – using the Copy function
Once you have some locations in your system, it is usually simpler to copy existing locations than to create them from scratch each time. The Copy function provides that functionality.
Note that the Copy function will create a new location with the same attributes such as type of location and service location if applicable, so be sure to pick a location with attribute to what you need for this new location.
All settings for the location that you copy, other than the location code and name are copied. You are presented with the Location details page (as shown in the New function description above) so that you can enter the new location’s code and name, before clicking on Update.
Exercise:
Click on the radio button next to the location that you just created and then click on Copy to indicate that you want to create a location with similar characteristics.
Fill in the details for a mythical location (as we are going to delete the location soon as part of this training), and then click on Update.
