The system supplied Request forms
New systems are supplied with a number of Request forms. Some are provided as examples, to illustrate some of the variety of results that you can achieve with Request forms. Others are forms required by the system (System request forms). The forms that are required by the system are listed below. Please note the comments about availability of each form. The system prevents you from deleting these forms, but you can change them, and you can change their availability. Please only do so with caution as disabling, or making any of these forms invalid, or removing fields from them, may effect the operation of your system.
Ref – your system must have at least one form designed for collection of requests, and it is this form. You can change the layout of this form within the request forms validation rules. You must not disable this form. As this is the form used as the default form for each new staff member signon, it should ideally be amended to become the form that your library uses most often to accept new questions at your reference desks that need to be answered offline.
Comment – this is the form used to accept Comments and suggestions in your system. If you disable this form for client use, the Comments and suggestions function will disappear from your client interface. You can change the layout of this form within the Request forms validation rules.
Lookups module example – this form is only provided in your system if your organisation is licensed for the optional RefTracker Dynamic Lookups module. It is used as the separate example of how to set up lookups in Request forms in the separate Dynamic lookups module documentation.
Lost – this form is used by the client interface to allow clients to submit queries to the library about previously submitted questions, where they can no longer remember the question number assigned to their question. You can add extra fields to this form. You must not Disable this form for client use.
KBnew – this form is used as the default form for the KB new function in the staff interface. You can add extra fields to this form, but you must ensure that it remains Disabled for client use, and available for KB new staff use only. Forms of this type create KB statistics. Copy this form if you need any more forms that should create KB statistics.
Internal task – this form is used as the default form for the Create internal task function in the staff interface. You can add extra fields to this form, but you must ensure that it remains Disabled for client use, and available for Internal task use only. Forms of this type create Internal task statistics. Copy this form if you need any more forms that should create Internal task statistics.
