Adding Lookups to your Request forms

When your Lookup has been defined, complete with its mapping to RefTracker fields, including creation of any Codemaps, it is time to include the Lookup, in the appropriate RefTracker Request form. This can be done by the RefTracker system administrator but we would advise that the DBA that was involved with the Lookups setup does it so that any problems with the setup can be immediately resolved.

Pre and Post population lookups are defined using System>Request forms>Edit options and the Lookups tab.

Autocomplete and Dynamic population lookups are defined using the Edit lookups mode.

If you want data from a Lookup to be saved in your Request form, the field to which that data has been mapped in the Lookup definition MUST be included in your Request form design.

This means that your Request form must include the fields that will be used as sources for lookups and the fields that will be used as destinations (i.e. for saving the data retrieved from the external data source).
