Lookup code maps

The Lookups code maps screen is only accessible if your organisation is licenced for the Dynamic lookups module.

When you have defined the details of your lookup using Lookups definition, it is time to create any code table mappings required as a result (the system will tell you when maps are required – which is whenever you have defined that data from the external database should be saved into a RefTracker code table).

Edit a code mapping by clicking on the “edit” icon.
RefTracker table is the RefTracker code table that has been detected as being used in the Lookup definition.
Source object is the field in the source database that is providing the data to be mapped. Clicking on the Spy glass icon allows the mapping to be created. It does a lookup of the source database and returns the values in use so that they can be mapped.

Every value in the Source database must be mapped to a RefTracker code table value to ensure that errors do not occur when the lookup is used. To edit a source file mapping, click on the Edit icon at the end of the line. The system will provide a list of all of the values received in the Dynamic Lookups data file in the order of newest entries added first (so they can be easily found to mapping), together with a drop down box showing all of the values in the RefTracker code table, so that you can choose the entry that will be saved into the RefTracker Request form when this source file value is retrieved.

Full details of how to use the Dynamic lookups module are provided in the Dynamic lookups module manual.
