The Actions menu

The Actions menu is only accessible by Full users and provides access to even more actions that work on specific questions.
The Actions menu will only show the additional actions that are applicable to the current status of the question that you are working on (the question number that the action will be performed on is shown in the Question number window of the Question action bar, and a summary of that question is shown at the top of the screen), and your permission level, however the full list of functions available from this screen are:
Open question actions
- Refer to 3rd party
- Redirect to third party
- Call for assistance (when the question is open)
- Allocated staff communication (only when the question is allocated to someone and that someone isn’t you)
- Copy question
- Create linked question and the option to link or unlink a task
- Create sub task and the option to Detach a task
- Record time (if enabled in your system)
- Record costs (if enabled in your system)
Closed question actions
- Reopen for client contact (when the question is closed – also accessible under Answer)
- Manage reopen request (when a reopen has been requested – also accessible under Answer)
- KB review (add/edit/remove KB entries)
- QA review (make changes without changing allocation or closing information)
- Email this answer to anyone (when the question is closed)
Administrator functions (restricted to Administrators only)
Functions applicable to questions of all statuses
All functions in this screen, as applicable to the current status of the question you are working on, are directly accessible via the Actions menu list in the Question action bar.
Exercise
So now we are going to look at all the functions available from Actions starting with the functions applicable to open questions and then moving on the functions applicable to closed questions.So go to Open questions and pick up an open question that you can work with by clicking on its question number.
