Data extract for DeskStats (Export)

When you are familiar with the records that have been Displayed, try exporting the records. To obtain the above report we simply selected the DeskStats data source in Data extract, and output type of Export (Excel spreadsheet). Data Extract for DeskStats provides similar output when used with Output type Export (CSV) and (XML) – although HTML might be able to be used in the Comment field it is unlikely. So the following information refers equally to all three Export output types.
You will be presented with the same browser based download instructions you saw when exporting the quantitative data.
You can use normal Excel techniques to analyse the data in ways not possible with tick sheets, for example you could answer, “By service location, are more reference questions that take more than 10 minutes to answer, serviced in the mornings or afternoons?”
The scroll bar at the bottom of the screen indicates that the display is wider than the physical screen so you can scroll to the right to see further information (or use the Export option export the data to Excel or another .csv compliant product, where wider data displays can be viewed and printed more effectively).
Note that it is good practice to take an extract such as this at least once for each of your statistical reporting periods, and to store it in a safe place so that statistics can be obtained for this time period into the future, without them having been diluted through the deletion of questions or information within questions that can occur in the main database!
